How it All Started
Started in April 2008, Marmaton Bottoms 3D was a vision from one avid bow-hunter. Josh Highley, founder of Marmaton Bottoms 3D, bounced the idea around in his head for about 3 years. In January 2008 he was diagnosed with cancer, and decided it was time to officially carry out his plans. Cancer was the kick start he needed to begin setting out the things he wanted to accomplish in life.
"It all started because of a love for the sport. I had been to bow shoots across the state and always desired to do something like that one day, so I stored away ideas and inspirations from the surrounding shoots. Cancer was my final determining factor, and I knew it was time to put the ideas in action. I approached my father with the plan and 4 months later we held our first bow shoot."
Marmaton Bottoms 3D started with about 40 shooters at the first event. A year later Josh and his father, Kenny, were almost overwhelmed with one event hosting over 200 shooters.
